Your physician will decide whether or not it is necessary for you to have any imaging studies performed, such as a diagnostic mammogram or an ultrasound.

A mammogram or ultrasound will determine whether the lump is solid or fluid-filled and will provide the exact size dimensions and characterizations of the lump, which will allow for an accurate diagnosis.
